No need to go all sagely on me, I'm in awe for sure 8). I take it by your quoting me that perhaps you noticed the tongue-sticking-out-smiley-face attached to what I said, implying the light hearted humour that it entailed (unless someone changed the meaning of emoticons without telling me). The poin...

I voted 2, I think that any changes within human possibility can be made. Turning to mist, or into a chair, I think are outside of influence. In order to do either, you'd probably have to have a much better understanding of physiology etc. I mean, how could your brain exist as mist and still have ne...

I've read a couple reports where people with multiple personalities had diabetes in one personality and not in another. They also have changes so far as eye colour and even odour differences. Another guy I met at a party once could will moles to appear and disappear on his skin, it took about a minu...

Was the holocaust right? I bet the Nazis thought so. Maybe it's true that morality is written by the winner, and that's the last I have to say on this subject...and no, I don't condone the holocaust.

That's interesting. I read some psychiatric speculations once about the guy who was attacked by the heartland ghost Sally (anyone remember that?). Anyway, they figured that the wounds which spontaneously appeared on his body, forming on camera, were the result of very powerful psychosomatic effects....

I once had a dream that I was closed in an iron maiden. It was so vivid that I could feel the spikes pushing into my body and felt the horrendous pain. When I woke up, I had phantom pain in the same spots where the spikes entered, which lasted for about a minute. Pretty freaky I guess.

TrainGravity makes sense to me. It seems that it would put the body at it's peak level in a general sense (think of how healthy you'd be in that good of shape, with regards to immunostrenght and healing speed)...without exercising. Good for those of us who have very little time or are too lazy to ex...

Thoughts for a file, opinions appreciated.

NASA has been doing some research on infrared LEDs and their effects on healing. They apparently increase the speed of healing 150-200%. I was thinking maybe being put under and being led to believe that these LEDs were shining on your wounds would have a similar effect. Thoughts?

Some people sleep deprive themselves for a couple days while keeping busy so that they can fall asleep at the drop of a hat. When they do finally allow themselves to crash, they only do so for 15 minutes, then they drudgingly force themselves to wake up and keep busy for another couple hours and the...

Could be that they said they gave up on it to dissuade others from trying. To paraphrase an aquaintance of mine; Let's not forget about Annie Besant and C. W. Well I imagine it would probably feel like strong cravings, as to whether you'd NEED it or not I'm unsure, as you may get enough anitoxidants from other sources in your diet. This is very cool but potentially dangerous. Non REM sleep repairs parts of the brain damaged by metabolism and free radicals, if you persue this, don't be surprised if you start craving Flavonoid rich things such as dark chocolate and grape juice.

Flies have such fast reflexes not because their central nervous systems are more efficient than ours, but because the distance the signals have to travel is much shorter. Nerve impulses only travel about 120 meters per second, much much much slower than light. Just thought I'd mention that for the s...

I guess the way I interpret the definition for a somatic path is being able to rely on my own body, being, self etc. One of the definitions of somatic in my dictionary says "Of, or involving the self" and when combined with the other definitions, applies to the body and mind in my point of view, whi...

If you had to define your life as a path, what would it be?

Hey all I'm new here. I recently was at a psych lecture at my local college where they talked about viewing your life as a self defined path and I was curious what others would think. I'm a somatic person, I try to be a tool (har har) for my own use instead of using tools...if that makes any sense. ...
