It works again

I don't know what happened but this morning I can download files like I used to without disableing Norton.

This is soooo much better.

Good to hear things are working for you again. Norton´s firewall is problematic. Anyway, you asked for good protection, with no problems I assume. One of the best.

F-SECURE INTERNET SECURITY, current version 2007
You can download & try full version (no crippleware) for free for 30 days.

check this link http://www.f-secure.com/

I´m browsing with Firefox 1.5.0.7 - no problems with dl

Thank you, Janus. I will check out F-secure. The more I use Norton the less I like it.

Do try. Some advice, I have installed F-secure on several computers so I think my experience with the installation process are relevant. Read the instructions. It might state that F-secure can uninstall other resident antivirus & firewall programs but don´t count on it. Anyway if the F-secure installation proceeds it will try to do so, otherwise it will ask you to do the uninstall. I have seen different behavior on seemingly identical puters (XP sec ed & everything updated). In any case, after f-secure installation's done, check & get rid of the Symantec folder, Norton uninstall leaves it there with several subfolders & lots of files. Good luck.
