Drugs as an aid to achieve trance?

Postby angel2342 » April 10th, 2010, 4:11 pm

I've been kind of lurking this site and related sites over the past year, downloading files here and there. Being boderline ADHD I have trouble focusing in and falling into a trance.

I was talking to a friend of mine who is a fan of street drugs. He suggested I take something as an aid to achieve a trance-like state. I was unsure. How do any of you feel about using drugs as an aid to achieving trance? I'm referring to both prescription and illegal drugs.

I find alcohol helps me visualise easier if the trance is very explanatory.

Aside from that, not a lot :)

Dextromethorpan(aka, cough syrup), I find helps when trying to learn to go deeper in trance(as it aids that feeling of not wanting to move, and just listen to the hypnotist, as well as removing feelings of discomfort from being in a trance for a long period of time), plus it's legal if you're over 18.
http://www.dextroverse.org/faq/dxm_faq.html is a long spiel on how to take it safely, though I recommend never getting unflavored cough syrup, as that stuff is just plain nasty.

Awesome suggestion! I've used DXM in my past and I can totally understand how it would help. I've never tripped so hard as to hallucinate, but a mild trip would definitely help with a trance...I would suspect anyway.

Basically I'm against any kind of drug that makes your mind less sharp. Because if you want to achieve trance and to have positive change your mind needs to be razor sharp. So while a mild sedative-like drug might calm you down to feel as though you are very relaxed, at the same time it will probably also hinder the real trance.

And to be fair, it does. That said, say someone is having trouble getting that physical relaxation of going into trance. The drug helps them feel what that's like, so when they do it by themselves, their mind has that memory to help them get further into trance. Consider it a crutch, that while you need to move past it eventually to get the best possible trance, it can help you when first starting out.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions and info! Ironically I shouldn't need the 'crutch' of drugs any longer because I was able to achieve trance yesterday evening. Afterwards I was kind of confused and still am, somewhat, but I find myself doing things that I wouldn't normally haha.

Anyway, I hope this topic will be able to help someone else out. Thanks for all the help!
