Adaptive Musle Memory

Postby xxxlatexloverxxx » January 8th, 2008, 10:50 pm

Does anyone think this could actually work cuz i think it would be an awesome file to listen to. I mean I've taken up guitar but can't quite get any better and my teacher loves showing off his awesome guitar skills. (I'd love to just copy some of those skills, muhahaha...)
And maybe after I've mastered guitar enough, I'll consider piano.

Also, I'm a pretty bad dancer (never got the hang of it) so watching a great one would greatly help and knowing martial arts couldn't hurt.

Anyways tell me what you all think about it!

Personally I dont think that is an application of muscle memory that will work. As a martial artist, the way muscle memory works is through repititon not duplication, very much like the mantras for slut/slave etc on this site do for the mind. Even if you could teach your mind the motions and skills without the hands on learning, your body simply would not be able to keep up with the speed of the mind and would not have the flexibilty required to move that way without damage.

On the other hand if the subject had a reasonable amount of experiance in the area in question. There is no reason new skills could not be learned in this fashion and the body would have the ability to adapt and develop itself as neccesary to match what the mind feels it should be able to do.

i think thats y the file suggestion says
(be careful, some moves can be streneous to the body)
and i sort of agree with u about the repitition not duplication
BUT who says that muscle memory couldnt be helped along by this file
if the body can memorize the way someone else does it (the teacher)
that could potentially help the body by teaching it the right way of doing it

ok i may be the only person posting to this (my) thread but i have a question id like to put out there?

would the copied actions be voluntary?

like if i saw a random person walking would i unconsciously start walking the same way or do i have to will it to happen because if i start copying things i see unvoluntarily then that would be sort of a problem

plz answer
btw the file is about 1/5 from the top of the voting list

but i think the point of the file is not to exercise (i guess it could be used for that) but to copy other peoples actions so that u can learn the right way to do things first and not have to go through all those mistakes
btw who suggested this file on the voting page?
