What program can you use to record to your computer? Is there one that comes free with most PCs, or that I can download for free, or do I have to buy one?

microsoft usually has a 'sound recorder' under the accessories column of your programs menu

Audacity is free at download.com, and worth every penny that you don't pay for it!
