I don't know what you're getting at Tangy, but that hardly seems relevant.

I think you should at least make sure a friend knows roughly where you are, even if not what you're doing, and have them expect a call or text from you afterwards. Meet in a public place and chat him up to make sure he's sane before heading somewhere more private. That sort of thing. In all likelihood it's just a lonely guy looking to get laid, but a little caution won't hurt.

I worry about disease risk, but would never in the slightest expect someone might get violent with me. Maybe this is naive. I've been into bodybuilding my whole life, was pretty aggressive as a kid and work in a field that sometimes involves wrestling with patients. I think I could overpower about 90% of the population.

Personally, I'd meet him for a couple of drinks first, then decide if he's cool to go somewhere alone with. I doubt I'd tell anyone, personally.
