Disney Song Hypnosis

Postby JadynMC » May 19th, 2009, 11:18 am

Disney's Jungle book when the snake sings:

"Trust in me, just in me
Shut your eyes and trust in me
You can sleep safe and sound
Knowing I am around

Slip into silent slumber
Sail on a silver mist
Slowly and surely your senses
Will cease to resist

Trust in me, just in me
Shut your eyes and trust in me"

How well do you think that this song would really do for a hypnosis session?

Is trance a silver mist?
This song has a little pacing...

I think it's a lovely ditty, but Disney holds a copyright to it so it'll never be in one of MY files. In fact, even posting the lyrics may be...

Well, if you see a lawyer striding towards you with an envelope in his hand, try to distract him with this link:

More than one of my subjects has told me that Kaa - with his spiral eyes and hypnotic song is the moment they realized they wanted to be hypnotized.

It's done very well...

You just know something is about to happen

It's compelling...

It's hard to tear your eyes away - watching to see what happens next

It's memorable...

The song stays in your head

On a somewhat related matter, is Kaa really Hindi for snake?

My Hindi is terribly rusty, but I don't believe Kaa means snake, but the word "ka" seems to figure into the phrase commonly used for snake.

Of more interest may be the info found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaa , where one cannot help but see that Kipling's original Kaa was distinctly different from Disney's representation. While much more mentor-like, Kipling's Kaa did actually try to poison Mowgli once, to be sure, but luckily the century's-old serpent lacked the venom for the task.

I would recommend reading the original as I did some 25 years ago, by-and-by. I remember the "thee shalt"s and "ye would do well"s used by Kipling to be off-putting at first, but this classic story really does tug at the Strings of one's Heart, making it perfect Bedtime Story material for young and old, alike.

Anyone who says 'trust in me' right off the bat sets off alarms. I think a less direct approach would be more productive.

Not 100% relevant but I have used a file that was graciously given to me that has this song playing along with the hypnosis script (actually a mix of several scripts being spoken simultaneously). The song performed by Selena Gomez, not the original movie version. Its quite interesting to focus on the song while drifting in trance. The song itself lends to the drifting sensations. It was helpful to me because I was having trust issues. It leaves the song running through my head for a few hours, sometimes all day after listening. Now just listening to the song makes me feel really good, relaxed, as if in a really light trance. :D
