Feature request: File Comments as messages

I would like to see comments that people make on a file that i created as messages, that would make it easier to respond to questions that people post in the file comments instead of having to check the comments of every single file uploaded.

This seems to be one of those suggestions where one says, "Why didn't I think of that?!?"

That would be so useful. The file comments pages are pretty much abandoned due to people having to actively check them.
