In the listes of posts.
To the left of each title is a small circle icon
Sometimes in red sometimes in blue?
Apparently meant to represent text?
Sometimes the text appears to be scrolling?
Sometimes there is a star?
How do I read all of this and what does each element mean?

Good question, espfrench. Before answering about the circles, I'm letting you know something. You're mentioned in [url=https://www.warpmymind.com/index.php?gadget=UserBlog&action=ReadJournal&id=5867]my journal posting #8[/url]. Now about those circles...

[list][color=#4040FF]Blue[/color] indicates that you've already read that posting
[color=#FF0000]Red [/color]indicates that you have not yet read it.
When the icon has text that scrolls up, it means that lots & lots of responses have been posted - popular.
When the icon has a star, it means that - at some time in the past - you posted something in that conversation [/list:u]

Thank you. Now it makes some sense. I had the "scrolling text" pegged as meaning someone was readING that particular file.
Shows what thinking gets me.

I'm assuming someone's "liked" that post?

As you type an entry here in the forum, have you ever noticed the colorful "Post icons:" that are up above the "Subject:"?

When someone posts a [b]new[/b] forum topic and they select one of those icons, the symbol they select gets overlaid onto the circle. Give it a try the next time you create a [b]new[/b] posting to ask a question. - and select the 'question mark' icon. Or try it the next time you create a new posting to tell about a recording that you'd love to have made - selecting the 'heart' icon
