I've just been contacted by a guy asking me to train him and turn him into a gay bear cub. This is something I"m very unfamiliar with and would like advice how to proceed with training him before I do something wrong and seriously fuck him up and get him going down an unsafe path... My specialty is that of jocks and personality makeovers, but this bear cub thing is a first for me. Please help.

You've become aware of something you don't know. And you've asked for help. Nicely done!

Sometimes, the right answer is to tell the prospective client no... to wish them well as you suggest they find another hypnotist.

Sometimes, the right answer is to go do it... go live the experience desired by the client. Because, when we gain experience, it's a resource that can be shared. Let's face it, a hypnotist who knows his way around the gym and enjoys lifting... he's able to guide trance for bodybuilders, isn't he?

And sometimes, the right answer is to use a client-centered approach, because the client knows what he wants. That makes things easy. Milton Erickson — the author of Ericksonian Hypnosis — once told this story:

I was returning from high school one day and a runaway horse with a bridle sped past a group of us into a farmer's yard, looking for a drink of water. The farmer didn't recognize it so I jumped up to the horse's back, took hold of the reins and said "Giddy-up" and headed for the highway. I knew the horse would take me to the right direction; I didn't know what the right direction was.

And the horse trotted and galloped along. Now and then he would forget he was on an highway and would start off into a field. So I would pull on him a bit and call his attention to the fact that the highway was where he was supposed to be.

And finally about four miles from where I had boarded him he turned into a farmyard and the farmer said, "So that's how the critter came back. Where did you find him?" I said, "about four miles from here." "How did you know he should come here?" I said, "I didn't know— but the horse knew. All I did was keep his attention on the road."

You've asked for advice because you want to do what's right and what leads the client down a safe path. You're aware of something you don't know.

don't know much about the subject...
but I thought being a bear had less to do with attitude or personality and more to do with being hairy and a certain type physique
