Checking around other BBS's I frequent, I found this today. What you're about to hear is produced by the rings of Saturn, and is called 'kilometric radiation'.

so SPOOKY!

it reminds me of those old haunted house tracks my parents would play every Hallowe'en. which, FYI, always scarted the bejesus out of me.

it's haunting, poignant. shows that there is life, in a way, out in space.

Great! Radio telescopes pick up fabulous stuff...
One of the all-time greats was scratchy and fading, distorted but so, so exciting ... the unmistakable bleep of Sputnik circling the earth. I even rigged an aerial to attenuate the signal (shows my age but what the heck! )
