Babywords

Postby demigraff » July 14th, 2012, 1:00 pm

Hi,
I was going to post this idea on the voting page, but I think it needs a little more revising. Basically, it sets up cutesy/childish language (like made up words) as a trigger. When someone speaks to you in baby talk, treating you like a little kid, you find yourself regressing somewhat. Certain words could also have a specific effect, and this is where I'd appreciate some more suggestions.

Ideas so far:

  • Calling a bottle by some infantile term (not sure which word would be appropriate) makes you feel thirsty, and makes it seem natural to drink from a baby bottle. Giving in to this urge makes you feel more childlike or babyish.

  • Hearing certain words for a pacifier/dummy (Dodi? Binky? What other terms are there?) gives you a sudden urge to suck, which gets stronger until you give in. The more you think about it, whether you do it or not, the simpler your language gets.

  • A childish term for a diaper (I see "dipee" a lot in AB/DL stories; anyone think of something better? Or maybe something like "weewee" would be more appropriate) takes away your bladder control temporarily.

Do you like these kind of ideas? And does anyone have any more childlike words/behaviours to add?
I'm thinking these would all be temporary triggers, lasting an hour or two, so someone would have to keep on addressing you in baby talk to keep you regressed.

Excellent post and replies-thank you

The original point is so great, pointing out how powerful a regression tool speech is. To talk to someone in that manner will definitely regress them and the longer they do it, the more they stay regressed. I agree with you there!

And that was a great link to Wikipedia! That was so much great information. I didn't really understand all of it, but it so great. Thank you.

i definitely agree with mondaytuesday...being spoken to as if you are so much younger can trigger regression. the more i'm talked to as if i am a very little boy or baby boy the more i naturally want to respond/talk/act like one.

i discovered recently that even if i try to trigger someone else's regression by talking to them as if they were a baby, the babyish words prompt my own desire to regress to baby talk.
